We're a Band!

Is the song we sang at first at our classes with Miss. Raquel. It was motivating because everybody waited to sing it everyday at her class. We had a lot of fun singing it and the meaning of it made us sing it with more enthusiasm. The lyrics are very inspiring and they tell us that we have to be on God’s side even if not everybody agrees with us, because he is coming back and he will save us if we have been on his side the whole time.

The Analects

DEFINITION
The Analects are considered a record of the words and acts of the central Chinese thinker and philosopher Confucius and his disciples, as well as the discussions they had. Written during the Spring and Autumn Period through the Warring States Period (ca. 479 BCE - 221 BCE), the Analects is the representative work of Confucianism and it influences China and East Asia with teachings and values today. Chapters are not arranged in any way to carry a continuous stream of thought or idea, which lets us know that The Analects were not written by one single person. Long time ago, in China, a man was not considered morally upright or enlightened if he did not study Confucius' works
.

DEEP THOUGHTS
Confucius states that a man should lead an upright life, educate himself, and contribute in their society. The superior man respects elders, cultivates friendship, treats his subordinates with a fair and even hand, continually educates himself, has a lot of love for fellow human beings, and is a good example for others to follow. The Analects are easy to understand. The teachings are presented in parallelisms and antithesis. The moral teachings include: government matters, right living, foresight, prudence, duties and humanity, among others.

Panchatantra

DEFINITION
Panchatantra is a collection if fables and proverbs that give advice of behavior to rulers. The relationship between the lion and the other animals teaches a lesson about how a king should treat his subjects.
Numskull and the Rabbit is a fable that tells the story of a cruel lion king named Numskull and a clever rabbit. All the animals of the forest come up with a plan to stop Numskull from killing them. They agree that every day one animal will go to the lion to be eaten, the rabbit wants to out stand the lion and he accomplishes it successfully.

DEEP THOUGHTS
The story of the "Numskull and the Rabbit" is used to teach kings how to manage their kingdom, by giving certain examples. This story also shows that if one forgets his people his own flaws can easily over throw him.
The lesson to learn from this story is to always try to see the consequences of your actions. The lion is vain and he believes he is the strongest animal of the kingdom bur really wisdom overcomes strength. We have to take advantage of our abilities but we don’t have to be overconfident because our deeds can be ruined because of that.
